Collective Fear – Past Life Kennedy
How much does a life count if nobody’s going to remember it? “Past Life Kennedy” asks that over a groove carried almost entirely by bass and drums, locked into a long circling pattern while the guitars hang back and thicken the air. The lyric puts everyone on the same level, a strung-out stranger clutching a shard of glass included, and the narrator admits to no famous bloodline and no early genius, only a search for some sign of what comes next. The chorus takes the title of the album and turns it back on the listener as a question.
Jam, psych and prog work their way into Collective Fear’s post-punk and shoegaze roots here, and it’s the first single from debut LP Doomed to Repeat, out January 22, 2027 on Candlepin Records.
